Phil Harrison’s drama to shoot in Belfast and South Africa.
Writer-director Phil Harrison is set to start principal photography on feature The Good Man.
Northern Ireland-based Manifesto Films is producing the low-budget feature, which is set in Belfast and South Africa and will shoot in both locations.
The project’s financing has come from crowdfunding (£60,000 through the sale of 400 shares in the film) as well as backing from Northern Ireland Screen.
The film tells two interconnecting stories, about a rising Belfast banker (Aidan Gillen) who accidentally causes a stranger’s death, and a South African teenager (Thabang Sidloyi) growing up in a township and hoping for a better life. The cast also features Kelly Campbell, Lalor Roddy and Jonathan Harden.
Susan Picken produces.
Harrison recently made the award-winning short Even Gods.
