RedSeat Entertainment has announced that Caribbean Cinemas will be the first movie theatre in the world to adopt their Tremor FX active theatre seats.
Seventy of the vibrating, immersive audio seats will be installed in two of Caribbean Cinemas HD theatres at the new Galeria 360 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
Tremor FX technology incorporates vibrations delivered through actuators in a standard-sized cinema seats that respond to the film’s audio signal. The system is design to enhance the sound design of a film by engaging audience sensory response on a deeper level. The control box for an entire theatre full of the seats is operated from the projection booth.
Gregory Quinn, VP of Caribbean Cinemas Dominican Republic commented: “Tremor FX is a great way for our customers to fully immerse themselves in a film. Instead of just seeing the movie, they are feeling it too, which really makes them a part of what is happening on screen.”
“It is clear that Caribbean Cinemas is deeply committed to creating the best overall cinematic experience for their customers, and they have recognised and fully embraced the value of our Tremor FX technology,” added Joseph Sorenson, CEO of RedSeat Entertainment. “The expectations of moviegoers are evolving, and we look forward to partnering with other theatres to bring this one-of-a-kind experience to cinemas across the globe.”
