Independent Cinema Office’s event screened 25 upcoming independent releases to an audience of 162 representatives of the independent and cultural film exhibition sector.

Ang Lee’s Life of Pi [pictured], Bernard Rose’s Boxing Day and Ben Wheatley’s Sightseers were among the titles screened at last week’s Autumn Screening days, the Independent Cinema Office’s (ICO) preview event funded by the BFI.

A total of 25 leading independent film releases opening in the UK over the next three months were screened for 162 representatives of the independent and cultural film exhibition sector. For the first time, the event was hosted at the National Media Museum in Bradford.

Other films previewed included the Wachowski siblings and Tom Twyker’s Cloud Atlas; Michael Haneke’s Palme d’Or winner Amour; Cate Shortland’s Locarno audience award winner Lore; and Haifaa Al Mansour’s Wadjda.

The Autumn Screenings event also included its first presentation of alternative content in the form of the Digital Theatre’s production of Lovesong, written by Abi Morgan.

ICO director Catharine Des Forges said: ‘It’s great that so many regional exhibitors share our view that this is a really important event in the independent exhibition calendar and can benefit from seeing so many previews kindly provided by UK distributors to enable them to better engage with their audience.”
