Ten animated short films have made it on to the shortlist for the 82nd Academy Awards from an original pool of 37 eligible titles.
The ten in alphabetical order by title, with production companies, are:

French Roast by Fabrice O Joubert (Pumpkin Factory/Bibo Films);
Granny O’Grimm’s Sleeping Beauty by Nicky Phelan (Brown Bag Films);
The Kinematograph by Tomek Baginski (Platige Image);
The Lady And The Reaper (La Dama Y La Muerte) by Javier Recio Gracia (Kandor Graphics and Green Moon);
Logorama by Nicolas Schmerkin (Autour De Minuit);
A Matter Of Loaf And Death by Nick Park (Aardman Animations);
Partly Cloudy by Peter Sohn (Pixar Animation Studios);
Runaway by Cordell Barker (National Film Board Of Canada); and
Variete by Roelof van den Bergh (Il Luster Productions)
The Academy’s short films and feature animation branch will vote to decide the five nominees. Nominations will be announced on February 2, 2010, ahead of the Academy Awards show on March 7.
