Two Austrian directors have made the nominations for the EFA discovery award for a first time feature director.
5 films have been nominated for the EFA’s discovery award, which will be presented to a first time feature director.
The nominations are:
Oxygen (Adem), dir Hans Van Nuffel (Belgium/the Netherlands)
Breathing (Atmen), dir Karl Markovics (Austria)
Michael, dir Markus Schleinzer (Austria)
Nothing’s All Bad (Smukke Menesker), dir Mikkel Munch-Fals (Denmark)
Tilva Ros, dir Nikola Ležaić (Serbia)
This year’s nominations were chosen by a committee made up of Yves Marmion (EFA Chairman, France), board members Els Vandevorst (the Netherlands) and Cedomir Kolar (France), EFA Members Pierre-Henri Deleau (France) and Jacob Neiiendam (Denmark), as well as Alin Tasciyan (Turkey), Paulo Portugal (Portugal), and László Kriston (Hungary), all of them members of FIPRESCI, the International Federation of Film Critics.
The 2,500 members of the European Film Academy will now vote for the winner who will be announced at the 24th European Film Awards on December 3 in Berlin.
