SanjayLeela Bhansali's Black won all the majorawards at the 51st Filmfare awards held in Mumbai.
Thefilm won the best film award and Bhansali was named best director.
AmitabhBachchan won the best actor award for Black's sensitive portrayal of a teacher andan Alzheimer patientand Rani Mukherjee walked away with the best actressprize for the role of a blind girl.Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukherjee were also the critics' choices.
Black's child actor Ayesha Kapoor got her hands on the best actress in asupporting role title.
Thefilm's 12 awards at the ceremony included three technical awards ' for bestcinematography, best background
scoreand best editing.
Amongother winners Bunty And Babli won awards forits music directors (Shankar, Ehsaan and Loy) , best singer (Alisha Chinoy) andlyricist (Gulzar).
Alifetime achievement award went to actor Shabana Azmi.
FormerMiss World Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan also performed at the ceremonywhich was attended by a who's who of the Indian film industry.
VisitingHollywood star Will Smith, presented the best actress trophy to Rani Mukherjee.
Theonly shadow was the news that actor Aamir Khan has served a legal notice to theTimes of India group, the publishers of Filmfare, seeking compensation of $5mfor using his photograph and quote without his permission in an advertisementto promote the event.
Theactor said that publication of the photograph and the quote purported to invadehis rights and was in violation of law.
