Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises stands at $407.2m heading into the weekend as Sony’s Total Recall gets a big push outside North America.
The sci-fi remake (pictured) is set to launch in more than 50 markets including Russia, Mexico, Japan and Argentina. By the end of last weekend it stood at more than $6.2m following an initial wave of launches.
The Amazing Spider-Man stood at more than $427.5m through last Sunday. Sony Pictures Releasing International executives had not replied to requests for updated grosses at time of writing.
Fox International’s Ice Age 4 stands at more than $600m after crossing the milestone on Wednesday (8), while Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has grossed $37.9m and opens in France, Argentina, South Africa and Switzerland. Fox International releases A Beira Do Caminho in Brazil. Prometheus has grossed $186.3m.
Universal Pictures International opens The Bourne Legacy day-and-date with North America in Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan, among other South-East Asian and Eastern European markets. The rest of the world opens during the next few months. The comedy Ted stands at $89.4m.
Brave stood at $119.2m through Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International and arrives this weekend in Spain. The Pixar film opens in the UK on Aug 17 followed by Italy on Sept 5.
DreamWorks Animation’s Madagascar 3 has amassed $323.8m through Paramount Pictures International.
