BOX OFFICE: Fox International has set a new industry box office record as the company’s year-to-date score reached $3.254bn.
Studio chiefs were celebrating as the achievement surpassed the previous high-water mark of $3.21bn set by Paramount in 2011.
Dawn Of The Planet Of The Apes has been a stand-out on more than $501m alongside DreamWorks Animation release How To Train Your Dragon 2 on well over $430m.
Fox International Productions earns special mention for a string of local-language hits including Guten Tag, Ramon, Bang Bang, El Nino, Finding Fanny and Doktorspiele.
“Just as we were of the Fox domestic team when they recently achieved unprecedented results, we are incredibly proud of the international team for breaking the industry record,” said Paul Hanneman, co-president worldwide theatrical marketing and distribution.
“These records are a testament to the unparalleled strategic and creative work happening at Twentieth Century Fox.”
This weekend The Maze Runner ranked as Fox International’s number one active release on $23.8m for $209.5m.
