UPDATE: Skyfall brought in a confirmed $86.5m international through Sony Pictures releasing International (SPRI) and MGM licensees from 11,843 screens in 83 territories as the tally climbed to $427.8m.
Leading the way for the third consecutive weekend was the UK on $16.8m from 1,768 to push the running total after three weekends to $116.2m (£72.9m). This makes Skyfall the fourth biggest release in history in the UK behind Avatar (£94m), Toy Story 3 (£73.8m) and Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (£73.1m).
SPRI top brass projected Skyfall would become the second biggest release in UK history by Monday.
Skyfall added $14.6m in Germany from 1,338 for $43.5m after two weekends and $8.5m from 825 in its third weekend in France for $42.8m after three. In a trio of notable third weekend holds 007 reached $22m in Russia, $14.2sm in South Korea and an outstanding $11.3m in Sweden after three. The score in Italy after two stands at $12.1m.
The film added $2.7m from 127 Imax locations and has grossed a $28m worldwide running total. SPRI markets generated $79.6m at the weekend for a $367.4m running total and MGM territories $9.4m for $61.2m.
Hotel Transylvania grossed $11.9m from 5,162 screens to reach $130.3m. The animation opened in second place in Italy on $2.6m from 471.
UPDATED: Warner Bros Pictures International reported that Argo grossed $12m from 36 markets in release as the early international running total climbed to $27.2m. The drama opened in France on $2.4m including previews and arrived in second place in the UK on $2.1m from 333 screens including previews. Argo has amassed $7.1m in Australia after three weekends. The Impossible stayed top for the fifth weekend in a row in Spain and added $2.8m for $46.3m.
UPDATED: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures International executives said Wreck-It Ralph added $11.2m although they did not provide a territory breakdown. The international running total stands at $26.1m and the worldwide tally has reached $120m. Frankenweenie stands at $29.4m.
Paranormal Activity 4 grossed $6m from 3,708 cinemas in 50 territories through Paramount Pictures International as the running total climbed to $78m. Madagascar 3, which last week became the highest grossing DreamWorks Animation film of all time, added $4.1m from 1,812 sites in 22 countries to reach $517.9m. The UK has generated $31.3m after three weekends.
UPDATED: Fox International reported that EuropaCorp/Fox’s Taken 2 grossed $4.1m from 2,819 screens in 57 markets to reach $218.5m, of which $61.9m comes from EuropaCorp territories. Ice Age 4 stands at $716.7m.
UPDATED: Universal Pictures International’s The Bourne Identity brought in a further $3.1 from 5,190 sites in 18 territories for $157.9m, while comedy smash Ted added $1.9m from 1,163 in 31 and has amassed $280.5m. A Perfect Plan (Un Plan Parfait) has grossed $6.9m in France after two weekends.
