The first trailer for Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel has been released.

The film recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend.

The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune — all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.

Fox Searchlight Pictures announced yesterday that it will release the film in selected theatres in the US on March 7, 2014.

Anderson, whose previous feature Moonrise Kingdom secured Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations, directed and wrote the screenplay from a story on which he shares a credit with Hugo Guinness.

Producers are Anderson, Scott Rudin, Steven M. Rales and Jeremy Dawson

The cast includes Ralph Fiennes as Gustave and young actor Tony Revolori in his feature debut as Zero.

The ensemble cast also includes Murray Abraham, Mathieu Amalric, Adrien Brody, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jude Law, Bill Murray, Edward Norton, Saoirse Ronan, Jason Schwartzman, Tilda Swinton, Tom Wilkinson and Owen Wilson.
