Danish feature FlameAnd Citron has raised 75% of itsrelatively large $7.6m (45m Danish Kroner) and will head into production withdelivery set for 2008.
Ole Christian Madsen willdirect the story of two colourful and important freedom fighters during WorldWar II. Lars K Andersen wrote the script.
The director sees his newfilm as an indirect comment on current world politics: "The story of twoillegal rebels is an eternally useful story even if it is played out in1944," he said. "The need to understand what happens in the world'sfocal points today goes through history."
Nimbus has set the projectup as a German co-production. Backing comes from the Danish Film Institute,Danish TV 2, and financiers in Norway, Sweden and Germany.
A Soap veteran Lars Bredo Rahbek is producing.
One of the leads will beplayed by Thure Lindhardt, who is in the voice cast of Princess and also acted in Madsen's Angels In Fast Motion and Sean Penn's forthcoming Into The Wild.
Madsen's previous featuresalso include Pizza King and Kira'sReason.
