Two new cast members, Eileen Atkins and Lucas Black, have been added to the mammoth ensemble of Anthony Minghella's Cold Mountain which stars shooting on Monday on location in Romania. Minghella has adapted the novel by Charles Frazier for the screen himself.
Black's credits include Crazy In Alabama and All The Pretty Horses, while veteran British actress Atkins has recent credits including The Hours, Gosford Park and Wit.
The remaining cast of the Miramax Films/MGM Pictures co-production includes Jude Law, Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellweger, Brendan Gleeson, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Natalie Portman, Giovanni Ribisi, Donald Sutherland, Ray Winstone, Kathy Baker, James Gammon, Charlie Hunnam, Jena Malone and Ethan Suplee. Sydney Pollack and William Horberg are producing for Mirage Enterprises and Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa are producing for Bona Fide Productions.
Atkins was represented in the deals with Miramax and Mirage by Paul Lyon-Maris at ICM London. Black was represented by Jason Heyman at UTA.
