Todd Solondz and Joe Swanberg to attend for retrospectives.
The second edition of the American Film Festival in Wroclaw, Poland will run Nov 15-20, screening 76 films including six European premieres.
Todd Solondz’s Dark Horse will open the festival, with Solondz coming to Wroclaw for a retrospective. The festival will close with Whit Stillman’s Damsels in Distress.
Selections include Gus Van Sant’s Restless, Kevin Smith’s Red State, Miranda July’s The Future, Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Jack Goes Boating, and Derek Cianfrance’s Blue Valentine.
Films in the Spectrum competitoin will include Michael Di Jiacomo’s Somewhere Tonight, Alison Bagnall’s The Dish and The Spoon and William Eubank’s Love.
Documetnaries in competition include Jeff Malmberg’s Marwencol, Errol Morris’ Tabloid and Andrea Blaugrund’s The Other F-Word.
Tributes are planned for Terrence Malick, Billy Wilder and Joe Swanberg.
