Arclight Films has sold UK rights to Momentum on Patrick Hughes’ Australian thriller Red Hill, one of the hottest marketing screenings here following its world premiere in Panorama.

Sales chief Mark Lindsay is fielding offers from Germany and Spain and closed further deals with Svensk in Scandinavia, Pinema in Turkey and Forum in Israel. Transmission will distribute in Australia.

Arclight has set up screenings for North American buyers in Los Angeles and New York and managing director Gary Hamilton and his team have already received several offers.

Hughes wrote and produced the film, which stars Ryan Kwanten, from HBO series True Blood, as a cop in a remote town dealing with a convicted murderer seeking revenge.

Meanwhile Sean Byrne’s teen horror film The Loved Ones has sold to the UK (Optimum Releasing), France (ARP), Germany (Koch Media and Australia (Madman).
