EXCLUSIVE: Alain Guiraudie’s Stranger By The Lake proves a buzz title at Cannes.
Paris-based Les Films du Losange has been racking up sales with Alain Guiraudie’s thriller Stranger By The Lake set against the backdrop of a picturesque gay cruising spot.
The film has sold to Germany (Alamode), Austria (Stadtkino), Italy (Teodora) and Taiwan (Flash Forward).
London-based LGBT specialist Peccadillo, which also handles wider art-house titles, has acquired the film for the UK.
Les Films du Losange was also on the verge of signing Israel, Australia and Hong Kong.
Guiraudie’s Stranger has been prompting rave reviews and quite a buzz since its premiere in Directors’ Fortnight.
Other festival titles on Les Films Du Losange’s slate include Gris Gris and Michael Kohlhaas.
