Alex Walton and his team will kick off talks with international buyers here on Ramin Bahrani’s drama At Any Price starring Dennis Quaid and Zac Efron. CAA represents domestic rights.
Heather Graham and Kim Dickens round out the key cast on the Black Bear Pictures, TreeHouse Pictures, Killer Films and Noruz Films project, which is currently in post.
Bahrani and Hallie Elizabeth Newton co-wrote At Any Price, about the scion of a farming empire who dreams of becoming a professional racing driver. When the family business comes under investigation the men are forced into a situation that threatens the family’s financial security.
Pamela Koffler, Teddy Schwarzman, Justin Nappi, Kevin Turen, Christine Vachon and Bahrani are producing and Ron Curtis, Mo Al Turki, Eric Nyari and Brian Young serve as executive producers.
Bahrani announced his arrival with Man Push Cart, which won the FIPRESCI International Critics Award at the London Film Festival. He followed this up with Chop Shop and most recently entry Goodbye Solo.
“The cast in the film is incredibly talented and the universal themes in the story are sure to resonate with our buyers,” said Exclusive’s president of international sales and distribution Alex Walton, who negotiated the deal with Teddy Schwarzman of Black Bear Pictures.
Dennis Quaid’s upcoming films include Lionsgate’s May release of What To Expect When You’re Expecting and CBS Films’ Sundance acquisition The Words in October.
Zac Efron stars in Cannes competition entry The Paperboy and played the co-lead in recent Warner Bros release The Lucky One. Heather Graham next appears in IFC Films’ Cherry.
Black Bear’s slate includes J C Chandor’s Margin Call follow-up All Is Lost, Broken City, Adult Children Of Divorce and King Of Heists.
TreeHouse Pictures is also producing All Is Lost and most recently produced Sundance entry Arbitrage and the satire Adult World.
Killer Films’ Pamela Koffler and Christine Vachon have produced more than 45 film and TV projects and their packed production slate includes Kill Your Darlings, Deep Powder and Innocence.
