EXCLUSIVE: Sixteen Films produce London-set thriller from writer Jack Thorne, director Tom Harper [pictured], set to shoot in July.
UK director Tom Harper and writer Jack Thorne are teaming on London-set thriller War Book, which is produced by Sixteen Films and London-based Archer’s Mark.
Harper will direct the film ahead of Woman in Black sequel The Woman in Black: Angel of Death later this year.
How I Live Now and A Long Way Down writer Thorne has written the thriller about the aftermath of an international nuclear attack, played out in the political backrooms of London.
The film will shoot on location in London from July 15. Casting is underway.
Lauren Dark of Sixteen Films produces with Harper produce with Mike Brett and Steve Jamison of Archer’s Mark executive producing alongside Ivana MacKinnon of Stray Bear Productions.
The in–demand duo also teamed on 2009 drama-thriller The Scouting Book For Boys.
Harper told Screen: “Ever since making my first short films, I’ve wanted to return to telling universal stories with a political edge. Jack’s script is beautiful and scary and Ivana MacKinnon and Sixteen Films are the perfect collaborators for it.”
