Teen horror film Tormented has started shooting in Birmingham, UK.
New UK production company Forward Films makes its feature debut with the film, being produced as the fourth feature from digital studio Slingshot.
The project is also backed by BBC Films and Screen West Midlands. Pathe International will handle international sales and Pathe Distribution will release the film in the UK.
Jon Wright, known for shorts such as The Librarian's Dream, will make his feature directorial debut. Stephen Prentice wrote the script.
Proudcers are Slingshot's Arvind Ethan David, Forward's Tracy Brimm and Kate Myers, and Cavan Ash.
The cast features Alex Pettyfer (Stormbreaker), Skins veterans April Pearson and Larissa Wilson, Mary Nighy and Dimitri Leonidas.
Set in a suburban school, Tormented is about a bullied teenage, Darren Mullet, who commits suicide but comes back from the dead to seek revenge on his tormenters.

Forward's other forthcoming projects include Three Mile Horizon written by Richard Warlow with Saul Dibb to direct for Paramount Vantage; UK comedy Skeletons by Nick Whitfield (with EM Media); Gillian Flynn's adaptation of Sharp Objects for Andrea Arnold to direct for Pathe; and an original comedy to be made with Barnaby Thompson's Fragile Films.
Fragile recently completed short Pop Art directed by Amanda Boyle.
