The always-entertaining Werner Herzog sounds off in an entertaining new interview.
I thoroughly enjoyed Herzog’s magnificent documentary Cave Of Forgotten Dreams last week — so I was especially excited to catch up with Intelligence Squared’s brilliant interview of the ever-entertaining master. It’s a must-see.
Cave recorded Herzog’s biggest documentary opening in the UK via Picturehouse (the opening seven-day gross was £143,536, with a per screen average of £6,642 across 22 screens) and arrives in the US at the end of the month courtesy of IFC Films. Producer Erik Nelson has been speaking about the film’s courage and distribution: “It was a huge leap of faith to make a documentary in 3D, and it was an equally daunting leap that once complete, we could find theatrical partners who shared our vision. We could not be happier with Picturehouse, and of course, the unprecedented success they have made of our film. Now, I feel like The Beatles waiting to appear on the Ed Sullivan show, as we bring Cave to America.”
