Harrison Ford and Peter Mayhew, as Han Solo and Chewbacca, are the first of the original cast to be glimpsed in the new teaser.
A second Star Wars: The Force Awakens teaser trailer has been released following a panel discussion around the upcoming film at the Star Wars Celebration event in Los Angeles.
The unveiling followed a series of on stage discussions, first with director JJ Abrams and producer Kathleen Kennedy, then with new cast John Boyega (Finn), Daisy Ridley (Rey) and Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), and finally original cast members Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Carrie Fisher (Princess Leia), Peter Mayhew (Chewbacca) and Anthony Daniels (C3PO).
Harrison Ford, who is seen in the new teaser as Han Solo, was not present following his plane accident in March.
New details to be revealed on the panels is that Boyega (seen in the first moments of the first teaser) plays a Stormtrooper whose life takes a different path; Ridley is playing a scavenger on a desert planet called Jakku (also seen in the first teaser and originally thought to be Tattooine, a location from the original films); and that Isaac plays “the best damn [X-Wing] pilot in the galaxy”.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to be released on Dec 18, 2015.
