UK’s second-largest cinema chain maintains 24.6% box-office market-share.
UK cinema chain Cineworld has released its preliminary results for 2011, with the company reporting a year-on-year 1.5% total revenue increase.
The cinema chain reports a 2.7% net increase in box office but ‘other income’, which includes screen advertising income and 3D glasses sales, was down a significant 4.4%.
The company’s marketshare was consistent with 2010 at 24.6% while retail revenue was broadly flat at 0.1%.
75% of Cineworld’s 811 screens are digital. The company expects to be fully digital by summer of this year.
