Singaporean exhibitor Golden Village is planning to screen two of Japanese pop star Ayumi Hamasaki’s recent concert tours at its flagship theatres.
GV Marina will screen a film based on Ayumi’s first 3D digital concert tour, Arena Tour – Next Level, in August, when it will also be screened theatrically in Japan. The tour took place April-October 2009 and attracted 300,000 fans to 35 shows in 12 Japanese cities.
It will be followed by the pop star’s Rock’n’Roll Circus Tour which will be screened at both GV Marina and GV Grand in September. The final seven days of the tour were captured at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in October 2010.
Tickets for the concert films will be priced at $17 (S$20) or $27 (S$32) for a package to watch both shows.
Dubbed the “Empress of J-pop”, Ayumi was discovered by Avex CEO Max Matsuura and has grown to become one of Japan’s biggest pop stars. She also has a loyal following across Asia.
