Magnet Releasing has taken US rights to Cannes Critics’ Week buzz title Rubber.
The film is about an automobile tire with murderous, telepathic powers. Quentin Dupieux directs.
Magnet SVP Tom Quinn negotiated the deal with Elle Driver’s Eva Diederix and Adeline Fontan Tessaur.
“Robert the tire has to be the most unforgettable villain of the decade,” said Quinn. “Quentin Dupieux is a crazy genius.”
”Rubber is such an original, quirky film that we couldn’t imagine a better distributor than Magnet. This film is completely crazy — I can’t wait to see the reactions of US audiences,” said Adeline Fontan Tessaur of Elle Driver.
