Sony Pictures Classics (SPC) has acquired all rights for the US and Australia/New Zealand to Xavier Beauvois’ Cannes competition entry Of Gods And Men.
Handled by sales agent Wild Bunch and written by Beauvois and Etienne Comar, Of Gods And Men tells the tale of eight French Christian monks trying to live in harmony with their Muslim neighbours as violence and terror take hold of the Maghreb region of North Africa.
The film is produced by Pascal Caucheteux for Why Not Productions (A Prophet) in conjunction with Comar, Armada Films and France 3 Cinema T.
In a statement, SPC said: “Audiences are going to love this important movie. We are honored to bring it to them and are happy to be working again with our friends at Wild Bunch and producer Pascal Caucheteux.”
