Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) has licensed the UK and a raft of territories from Exclusive Media to the Toronto entry Therese.

SPWA also picked up rights to Charlie Stratton’s romantic thriller for Germany, Latin America, Austria, Scandinavia and Benelux. Roadside Attractions holds US rights.

Exclusive Media president of international sales Alex Walton negotiated the deal with SPWA evp of business affairs Michael Helfand, vp of acquisitions Chan Phung and vp of development Jon Freedberg.

Elizabeth Olsen, Oscar Isaac, Tom Felton and Jessica Lange star in the Emile Zola adaptation. LD Distribution CEO Mickey Liddell produced with Pete Shilaimon and William Horberg of Wonderful Films.

Richard Sharkey, Jennifer Monroe and Stratton served as executive producers.
