Joachim Trier’s Norwegian film launched in Cannes last year and is set to screen at Sundance in Spotlight on Friday (20) and follows a young man in drug rehab who reflects on his life.
Co-president Marcus Hu of Strand Releasing negotiated the deal with Michael Weber of The Match Factory. The distributor plans to screen it at several festivals before a spring release.
“With Oslo, August 31st we are happy to announce another collaboration with Strand,” Brigitte Suarez of The Match Factory said. “Joachim’s film superbly reflects the anxieties of a whole generation and it made it to the top ten lists in Norway and has sold in over 20 territories. We’re delighted that Strand will introduce this sensitive piece of art to American audiences.”
“Joachim’s a great talent and a filmmaker that is certainly in line with the kinds of voices that we support,” Strand co-president Jon Gerrans said.
