Also acquires Irish film Silence.
New Wave Films’ Robert Beeson has confirmed to Screen that the company has taken UK rights to two Berlinale Competition titles.
They are Danis Tanovic’s An Episode In The Life of An Iron Picker [pictured], sold by The Match Factory; and Jafar Panafi’s Closed Curtain, sold by Celluloid Dreams.
On the eve of Berlin, the company also secured a UK-only deal for Silence by Pat Collins. The deal was done directly with producers; the fllm has already been released in Ireland.
That story follows a sound recordist who returns to Ireland to try to record landscapes away from man-made sound.
