VoD provider FilmFlex has partnered with mobile operator EE to launch a film service aimed at 4G subscribers.
EE Film features over 700 films to stream or download to mobile devices or laptops via the high speed mobile network, along with trailers, cinema listings and two-for-one ticket offers.
The service also enables users to view a film on one device, before pausing it to pick up from the point at which they stopped watching on another device.
4G EE subscribers will be able to view one film per week for free without affecting their data allowance, with further films available to stream or download from 79p.
EE became the first UK operator to launch a 4G network on Oct 30.
FilmFlex, which is backed by Sony Pictures Television and Disney and led by chief executive Jeff Henry [pictured], has relationships with over 30 film distributors including the major Hollywood studios. It also manages Virgin Media’s movies-on-demand service and has managed 75m purchases to date.
