Sales company collective Europa International held its second general assembly meeting in Rome last week, with topics of discussion including the future of the MEDIA programme, new policies in relation to digital cinema, legal development, and data collection for international distribution.
EI has 29 member sales companies from eight countries. Michael Weber of The Match Factory serves as president of the group.
For the rest of 2011, one major concern will be defending the EU’s budget to back European culture, despite tough times in the current economic environment. Europa International has urged to mobilize at each national level to lobby for the EU’s cultural backing.
The next general assembly will take place in Berlin in February 2012.
