Munich-based film composers’ agency Oticons has added Craig Gannon, former Smiths and Aztec Camera guitarist, to its roster.

The company, founded 2010 by George Christopoulos, Ralph Douw and Stavros Platsis, now represents 16 leading movie composers, among them Rachel Portman (The Cider House Rules), Jan A.P. Kaczmarek (Finding Neverland) and Shigeru Umebayashi (House of Flying Daggers).

Oticons represents primarily European composers. “We receive daily several emails from composers looking for representation,” Christopoulos said. “The main objective for us is to have all these European composers to cover every market.”

Gannon joined Oticons two weeks ago. “He has great credentials and has for the last 13 years has been a film composer,” Christopoulos said of Gannon.

The Oticons boss isn’t planning to expand the agency’s roster too quickly. “An agent has to feed the composers with projects…you have to set a limit to how many you want to represent. You cannot afford to represent too many because you can not feed them all with projects in the end.”
