Focus Features International (FFI) will cease to operate at the end of December.
A spokesperson for Universal confirmed the news on Wednesday (November 6).
All 16 employees at FFI’s London office have been notified.
FFI head Alison Thompson [pictured] and her team are at AFM handling sales on the existing slate.
It is understood that all films greenlit by Focus will continue to be serviced and delivered to the buyers when they are complete.
Going forward, the new-look Focus Features run by Peter Schlessel will use Universal Pictures International to distribute select titles.
Certain Focus Features films will be distributed independently using outside sales agents on a case-by-case basis.
