Comedy biopic One Chance, starring James Corden as Britain’s Got Talent winner Paul Potts, has wrapped filming.
Directed by David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada), the film shot for seven weeks in Italy and the UK.
The story, about a shy Welshman who works as a shop assistant by day and is an amateur opera singer by night, has been written by Justin Zackham (The Bucket List).
Producers are Mike Menchel, Brad, Weston, Kris Thykier and Simon Cowell. Potts was picked by Cowell after his audition on ITV entertainment show Britain’s Got Talent in 2007 and went on to win the competition.
Corden stars alongside Julie Walters, Mackenzie Crook, Colm Meaney, Jemima Rooper and Alexandra Roach.
Executive producers are Harvey Weinstein and Bob Weinstein. The film is financed by The Weinstein Company, which is also handling worldwide sales. It has already been sold in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Russia and Japan as well as other parts of Europe and Asia.
It is due for release in 2013.
