EXCLUSIVE: Fraser and The Tudors and Pan Am star Wallis headline cast including Peter Fonda and Danny Trejo; comedy-western set to shoot at Shepperton from September.
Brendan Fraser and Annabelle Wallis are set to star in wild-west comedy In with the Outlaws, which is due to shoot at Shepperton from September.
Andrew Morahan (JLS: Eyes Wide Open 3D) directs Nicholas Sercombe’s debut film script about a sheriff and his troupe of hapless sidekicks trying to rid their hometown of the sheriff’s own notorious outlaw family.
Wallis, who played Bridget Pierce in Sony’s airline series Pan Am (BBC2 in the UK) and Jane Seymour in Peace Arch’s popular historical fiction series The Tudors (also BBC2), will play the sheriff’s accomplice Pandora Dallas.
Fraser and Wallis are joined on the ensemble piece by Peter Fonda, Danny Trejo, Ann-Margret, Celia Imrie and singer Alice Cooper.
Sercombe produces, with Alexa Jago, Mick Southworth, Jim Summers, Luke Dugdale and Martin McCabe all on board as executive producers. Intandem Films handles sales.
Former TV writer-producer Sercombe told Screen that the production would have a budget of £10m, largely made up of UK, US and Canadian private equity (a portion of which was raised through a UK EIS), and that it is “attracting serious studio interest.”
Sercombe is also writing a UK period drama set in 1901 about a coal baron.
