FilmNation Entertainment and Sonny Mallhi are producing the story of newlyweds who escape a brutal kidnapping and unwittingly fall into the clutches of a shadowy group that uses terror as a means of entertainment.
Solet, whose horror tale Grace premiered at Sundance in 2009, will direct from a screenplay by Eric Reese. Chuck Simon will serve as executive producer and FilmNation will also handle international sales.
Director of production Juliana Cardarelli brought in the project and head of business affairs Alison Cohen brokered the deal.
“The Faces is an original and gripping tale which will no doubt captivate audiences,” FilmNation’s president of production Aaron Ryder said. “Eric is a talented genre writer with a very long and prosperous career ahead.”
FilmNation recently completed House At The End Of The Street starring Jennifer Lawrence and The Raven starring John Cusack as Edgar Allan Poe.
The company is in pre-production on Mud starring Reese Witherspoon and Matthew McConaughey which Jeff Nichols will direct as his follow-up to the Cannes Critics’ Week winner Take Shelter.
