Veteran Paris-based producer Jean-François Leptit of Flach Film Production has come on board as French co-producer of new sex comedy The Anatomist from writer-director Gabriela Tagliavini.
The €6 million film, announced earlier this month by production and sales outfit Buena Onda International, is an adaptation from the best selling novel of Federico Andahazi. Based on real characters, it is the story of Mateo Colombo the Italian doctor who during the 16th century discovered…the clitoris.
The project will be an English language European co-production (Italy, France and the UK.) with an international cast. Shooting is scheduled for Spring/Summer 2012. Casting should be announced shortly.
“We hope to shoot next year,” Lepetit commented.
- Title: The Anatomist
- Producers: Jean-François Leptit, Enrica de Biasi and DK Ranvaud
- Budget: €6 million
The Anatomist is being produced by Buena Onda’s Enrica de Biasi and DK Ranvaud and by Petit.
Enrica De Biasi was one of the financiers and executive producers on Al Pacino’s Wilde Salome (which was produced by Barry Navidi and Robert Fox and premiered in Venice earlier this month.)
“I am the only Italian who put money in this movie and I am very proud of it,” De Biasi said. “I decided to put money in because I am a fan of (Pacino’s earlier film) Looking For Richard.”
International sales on Wilde Salome are handled by Arclight.
