Principal photography is under way in Cape Town on John Stockwell’s action-thriller Dark Tide, starring Halle Berry and Olivier Martinez.

Berry plays a renowned diving instructor who after a near-fatal accident is persuaded by her estranged ex-husband (Martinez) to return to the deep. British actor Ralph Brown and South African newcomers Luke Stein and Mark Elderkin also star.

Dark Tide is produced by Jeanette Buerling (Magnet Media Productions), Matthew Chausse (Mirabelle Pictures) and Anthony Gudas (Tax Credit Finance) with financing from Magnet Media Productions in a co-production with Film Afrika and Zephyr Films.#

IM Global is handling worldwide sales, with the international release due in 2011. The script is an original screenplay by Amy Sorlie. 

The production will relocate to Pinewood studios for a two-week shoot starting next week.
