Radiant Films International has signed on to represent the teen thriller Take Down, to be directed in the UK later in the year by I Know What You Did Last Summer director Jim Gillespie, from a script by Ransom writer Alexander Ignon.
Casting will begin shortly on the film about the kidnapping of a group of wayward children sent to a tough-love school in the remote wilderness by their billionaire parents from across the world. Young actors from right across the world will be considered.
With high hopes that the project will be very commercial with franchise potential, Ignon is already working on the first sequel.
“The marketplace is searching for smart, robust thrillers for that core teen demographic,” said Mimi Steinbauer [pictured], founder of Radiant, which is represented at Filmart. “Take Down is a strong, captivating script and with the strength of the filmmaking team making the film, we are just thrilled to be on board.”
The producers are former Fortune 100 marketing and studio distribution executive Ed Elbert (Anna And The King), Sarah Ryan Black (The Breakfast Club, Fried Green Tomatoes) former Imagenation Abu Dhabi chief operating officer Stefan Brunner (The Alchemyst, The Help), Alex Tate and London-based Studio Eight’s Jamie Brown and Alex Brown.
