Santa Monica-based Myriad Pictures has set Amanda Crew and Adrianne Palicki to star in Jamie Babbit’s thriller Breaking The Girl.
Myriad president and CEO Kirk D’Amico is commencing pre-sales here and production is scheduled to start in Canada in 2010.
Mark Distefano and Guinevere Turner wrote the screenplay about a naive college student who falls in with a manipulative classmate who implicates her in a murder.
Crew most recently appeared in A Haunting In Connecticut, Break-Up Artist and Final Destination 3 and is currently filming The Death And Life Of Charlie St Cloud with Zac Efron.
Palicki was a regular on the TV hit Friday Night Lights before moving to the big screen in Sebastian Gutierrez’s highly anticipated Women In Trouble, which Myriad has just acquired for international sales.
She will next be seen opposite Paul Bettany in Legion, as well as Gutierrez’s Women In Trouble follow-up, Elektra Luxx.
“Amanda and Adrianne are perfectly cast as the two students who become almost more than friends before the truth about Alex is revealed,” D’Amico said. “It’s sexy and scary and we expect it to fall into the same genre category as films like Prom Night and Wild Things.”
