Wild Bunch has picked up the international sales rights to Oscar-nominated Spanish director Nacho Vigalondo’s hotly anticipated new thriller project Windows, currently in development.
Vigalondo has written the script for Windows, which is going to be a thriller about watching and being watched on the internet “in a style similar to Alfred Hitchock’s film Rear Window,” Vigalondo told ScreenDaily.
The project is being co-produced by Spanish heavyweights Antena 3 (Green Zone, Intruders) and Enrique Lopez-Lavigne’s Apaches Entertainment (Intruders, The Impossible), who also worked together on Vigalondo’s sci-fi romantic comedy Extraterrestre, which is currently screening to much acclaim at the San Sebastian film festival. Antena 3 has also pre-bought the TV rights to Windows.
Pre-production on Windows is expected to start soon and the producers are approaching top level US/international actors for lead roles of the same calibre as Ryan Reynolds, who starred in Spanish director Rodrigo Cortes’ film Buried.

Vigalondo’s short film 7:35 In The Morning was nominated for an Oscar and his feature debut TimeCrimes was a great success in Spain and is due to be remade in the US by DreamWorks. He is also set to direct Supercrooks, based on the Mark Millar comic book. “It will be a heist film in the vein of Ocean’s Eleven but with supervillains who hatch a plan together in Europe,” Vigalondo told ScreenDaily.
Meanwhile, Antena 3 Films has also joined Alex and David Pastor’s apocalyptic thriller The Last Days as co-producers, alongside Morena Films and former Filmax executive Alberto Marini’s new outfit Rebelion Terrestre. The film is about a mysterious form of agoraphobia which spreads across the world, leaving the entire population trapped indoors. The Pastor brothers wrote and directed Carriers for Paramount with Chris Pine and Piper Perabo.
