Cast of Italy-set mystery thriller also includes Geraldine Chaplin and Franco Nero.
Rutger Hauer and Michael Madsen have joined Geraldine Chaplin and Franco Nero in the cast of The Broken Key, from sales company Fantastic Films International.
The mystery thriller, about an English academic investigating the world of symbology to shed light on ritual murders inspired by the Seven Deadly Sins, is currently shooting in Italy, with Turin Film Production and L’Altrofim producing. Louis Nero is directing.
In a statement, Turin Film president Giancarlo Guerreri said: “We are thrilled to be joined by such a prestigious cast. This is a tremendous source of pride for our company and it validates our belief in the project.”
Hauer said: “After a five-minute phone call with Louis, I had already decided to work with him. Magic, antiquity, action and intrigue are what attracted me to the project and I am delighted to have become a part of it.”
Madsen added: “I am excited to participate in this production in Italy, a country that has always been stimulating for me.”
