EXCLUSIVE: Stephen Fingleton sci-fi horror Fog set to be first project with executive producer Ridley Scott.
Scott Free has earmarked Stephen Fingleton’s invasion film Fog (working title) as the likely first project on its anticipated genre slate, which it is producing with Focus Features International and Orchard Capital.
Writer-director Fingleton is close to delivering a first draft to Scott Free. Screen understands that the film is being budgeted in the $2m range and is tentatively scheduled to shoot in Northern Ireland in early 2014.
Fog charts a family’s battle against a supernatural higher intelligence during a trip to London.
Ridley Scott will executive produce the genre slate of six low budget features. Scott Free London produce with Orchard Media. Focus Features International are handling sales.
The films will be made in association with Northern Ireland Screen and are due to shoot primarily in Northern Ireland using local crew, cast, services and facilities.
Scott Free is currently developing additional projects on the slate, including one with Jon Croker, writer of The Woman in Black: Angel of Death.
Fingleton’s script The Survivalist, which is being produced by Robert Jones, recently topped the UK Brit List, a selection of the UK’s hottest scripts in development.
