London-based Intandem Films has struck a deal to collaborate with Los Angeles-based IFA Distribution.
Under the deal, Intandem will distribute globally (excluding North America) films that are financed by IFA.
Intandem will likely handle about 20 IFA projects per year, mostly lower-budget thrillers, comedies and faith-based projects.
Films include $5m 3D thriller Glimmer starring Amy Smart and Shawn Roberts; plus Stag, A True Story, Path of Souls and Construction. Films in development or shooting now include Finding Iris, Finding Faith, Misfits, and Cold Brook.
IFA is a joint venture between FUNimation® Entertainment and American United Entertainment.
Robert Rodriguez, Chairman of American United Entertainment, said: “We are delighted to be entering into this agreement with Intandem. AUE has worked closely with the Intandem team on Glimmer and are impressed by the dedication to strong marketing and the quality of their relationships with international distributors. We expect this to be a long term arrangement which helps build a strong catalogue of feature film titles which can be exploited on digital outlets as well as traditional media.”
Gary Smith, CEO of Intandem, added: “This deal secures Intandem a source of films to add significantly to our catalogue. The company is keen to expand into faith based films through this relationship and we expect very strong growth in digital distribution in the future. It’s an important part of our strategy to add to the volume of films we represent and this deal helps to achieve that objective. FUNimation is a market leader in digital distribution and we are excited to formalize this arrangement with them and American United Entertainment.”
