Miss Bala, Otelo Burning and Shuga: Sex, Love And Money are up for the best drama prize.
The One World Media Awards has announced its list of nominees.
Among those up for awards are Gerardo Naranjo’s Mexican beauty queen feature Miss Bala, Sara Blecher’s Durban set Otelo Burning and Kenyan TV drama series Shuga: Sex, Love and Money in the Best Drama category and BBC Four’s Marathon Boy, Channel 4’s Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields and BBC Worldwide’s The Invasion of Lampedusa, which are all nominated for the Best Documentary award.
Awards will be presented in London on May 8 to winners from 13 categories spanning filmmaking, broadcasting and journalism with a focus on foreign affairs and international stories.
The awards, now in its 24th year, will be hosted by Jon Snow.
