Protagonist Pictures has taken on sales for Kill List, the new film directed by lauded new talent Ben Wheatley (Down Terrace).

The horror film will premiere at SXSW, where Protagonist previously launched Gareth Edwards’ hit Monsters.

The Warp X/Rook Films project is about an ex-soldier-turned contract killer (Neil Maskell) who unravels when he takes on a new assignment with his partner (Gal).

The cast also features MyAnna Buring and Emma Fryer.

The project has support from the UK Film Council, Film4 and Screen Yorkshire.

Claire Jones & Andy Starke produced. Wheatley also wrote the script with Amy Jump.

Wheatley’s Down Terrace was released theatrically in the US and UK and showed at festivals including Rotterdam and Raindance.

Earlier this week, he won the Evening Standard Film Award for best newcomer for Down Terrace.
