EXCLUSIVE: New president and CEO appointed.
UK Jewish Film has announced that founder and executive director Judy Ironside will take on a new role as president.
In addition, Michael Etherton has been appointed as the organisation’s new chief executive officer.
The new roles are due to be announced at the closing weekend gala of the UK Jewish Film Festival tomorrow (Nov 22).
Stephen Margolis will continue as chairman of the board and Keren Misgav-Ristvedt as business director.
Etherton is currently managing director at UK Jewish Film, where he has worked with Ironside and the Board over the past 10 years on the development from annual festival to a year-round film organisation, producing and programming festivals in the UK, Geneva, Hong Kong and Tel Aviv.
A graduate of Balliol College, Oxford, and a former student of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, he has 15 years’ experience in the film, music and creative industries.
Etherton said he was looking to take UK Jewish Film “to the next stage” and will aim to “expand our audiences, brand and reach”.
