Veteran drama producer Ruth Caleb will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2012 Sky WFTV Awards for her 40-year contribution to the industry.

Caleb was a producer on Pat and Margaret (1994) starring Julie Walters and Victoria Wood; Last Resort (2000), which earned a BAFTA nomination; and Bullet Boy (2004).

She has recently earned executive producer credits for A Short Stay in Switzerland (2009) and The Last Days of Lehman Brothers (2009).

Comedian Sue Perkins of BBC2’s Great British Bake Off will host the ceremony on Dec 7. Julie Walters, who hosted the 2010 awards, will present the lifetime prize to Caleb.

WFTV Chief Executive Kate Kinninmont commented: “Our awards are known for their mix of fun and humour alongside serious recognition of outstanding talent, and Sue and Ruth embody that.”

The awards will also include 14 other categories honouring best performance, writing and producer among others.
