EXCLUSIVE: Panorama Dokumente entry [pictured] among sellers for French doc specialists.
French doc specialist Wide House has sold all US and Canadian rights to Panorama Dokumente entry The Circle (Der Kreis) to Wolfe Video.
The 1950s-set doc-drama, directed by Stefan Haupt, follows a young teacher who falls for a transvestite star of a renowned underground club run by network Der Kreis (The Circle), the pioneering organisation for gay emancipation in post-war Europe.
Wolfe Video CEO Maria Lynn said: “We are so honoured to be a part of this very special film and its elegant documentation of our history!”
The busy Wide House yesterday inked an additional deal on Kenneth Elvebakk’s ballet doc Ballet Boys for Japan (Uplink) after closing France (ZED), UK (Matchbox) and Germany (CMV Laservision) earlier in the market.
The Great Museum was picked up by Jour2Fete for France, DOMA Inc for Japan and Matchbox in the UK.
Snail doc Slow has gone to Italian distributor Biograph.
