Infernal Affairs actor among final additions of cast on US-China co-production, set to go into production at the end of the month.
Andy Lau has joined the cast of Legendary Entertainment’s The Great Wall, directed by Zhang Yimou (Hero, House of Flying Daggers).
The Infernal Affairs actor is among the final additions to the US-China co-production, alongside Eddie Peng, Jian Tian, Zhang Hanyu and Lu Han.
Matt Damon, Pedro Pascal and Willem Defoe are among the previously announced cast members.
The Great Wall is set to go into production at the end of the month and centres on an elite force making a last stand on the eponymous structure.
Universal has set a Nov 23, 2016 release. Le Vision and China Film Co. Ltd will distribute in China during the 2016 holiday period.
Producers are Thomas Tull, Charles Roven, Jon Jashni and Peter Loehr, with Er Yong, Alex Hedlund and Eric Hedayat co-producing.
Executive producers are Jillian Share, Alex Gartner, Bennett Walsh, La Peikang and Zhang Zhao.
