The Trustees of the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund have appointed Richard Wilson [pictured] as CEO.
He takes the post on Dec 1.
Anne Bennett, President of the CTBF said: “We are delighted Richard has agreed to take on the Chief Executive Officer role at this important time in the development of the Fund. He brings a wealth of highly relevant management experience from his extensive career with Granada in Manchester and LWT in London, together with senior project management and consulting roles with many leading brand media businesses.”
Wilson added: “I have long been a supporter of the work of the CTBF and am delighted to be leading it at a time when its services are more in demand than ever. Our beneficiaries come from all areas of the film and TV sectors and from all age groups and backgrounds. We are not just supporting people through times of hardship, but also launching careers through schemes such as the John Brabourne Awards, which help to fund training and education. I am very much looking forward to the challenges of the coming years.”
The charity supports veterans of the film and TV industries who need assistance. The fund distributed over £3m last year. The CTBF also runs the annual Royal Film Performance.
