Screen Facilities Scotland, a collaboration of Scottish-based film, television and commercials facilities firms, has won a £10,000 prize for business development.
The cash was awarded by Co-operative Development Scotland (CDS) and the entry was spearheaded by Artem Ltd: the Physical Special Effects Company, which opened a Glasgow division in 2006.
Joanna Dewar Gibb, business manager in Glasgow, said: “Winning this £10,000 prize has given us a much-needed boost to take this creative collaboration forward.”
Screen Facilities Scotland aims to increase core business, strengthen company reputations, be a unified lobbying voice for the member companies and secure jobs and growth for the Scottish film, TV and commercials production sector.
Joint initiatives to date have included a large scale collaborative marketing effort producing five short trailers, promoting the work of Scottish facilities companies and shown throughout the 2011 Edinburgh TV Festival.
Members of the working group include Artem Ltd, the Hive Post Production, Rage Music, 422.tv, Visual Impact (Scotland), and Hammerhead TV.
